I had some fabric left over from my MaryJane Milk Cow Kitchen quilt, and MaryJane sent me the cutest little folded fabric coaster, so I thought after I finished making my Creme Brûlée, I would make a few of these with the little stash I have left over. Wahla! Why stop there? A few "tape measure snap" purses too! |

Awesome! You figured out the coaster. Any chance you have a pattern for the snap purse????? |

Absolutely MaryJane. Watch your mailbox. ;) And Ron, I hope you like the Milk Cow coasters because they are heading your way. Thanks Charlene. When MaryJane sent me the little coaster, it peaked my interest and I wouldn't be happy until I figured it out. (didn't take long) and they are quick to sew. |

Thank you Sydney, Goes together quickly. The greatest challenge is just finding the time and doing it. Fun once you get going plus no end to fabric combinations. |

Those look just my speed, Janet. I like sewing/quilting in straight lines. Rectangles or squares, not triangles, that way I can get a lot done before my patience runs out. |

I know what you mean. With the many quilts I have here that I need to get at, (different stages, but mostly need quilted), it's nice to just do something that doesn't require a lot of thinking. I need that sometimes, so the mind can float, drift and it not effect what I'm working on. This was a fun, "time out" project. |

Right back at you Ron! HJO coffee/tea cups. Heavy thick restaurant cups. To hold the heat. :) My coffee cup is one a friend gave me years ago. Hand made pottery cup. Large. It lasts me all day. I fill it in the morning and when it's gone it's gone. Some days, I only have a few swallows, some days it gets emptied. |

That is a fun idea, Ron...I can see us all now with our HJO mugs sipping coffee or tea, but all with cream, as we chat back and forth. |

Oh Mike. I've done this so long I could just about do it blindfolded. But I won't. I've not ever put the needle through my finger but I remember my grandmother did. I'm pretty mindful. ;) |

Yeah....... mom squeaked pretty loud!! It was her first electric Singer and it didn't stop as fast as the treadle. Right through the nail and finger tip, several stitches worth! Bled on the new dress... With my big harness stitcher I could take an inch thick chunk and put some force into it..... :( |

Ouch! I've got my grandma's old treadle Singer sewing machine. I get it going once in a while. I've got several little Featherweight Singers. Centennial model and others. Fiddleback Sewing machine. Everyone of them work. Even some of my toy Singers. I've got collecting issues I think. LOL. |

I grabbed some cute fabric scraps and made one of the little coasters, but then went on and stuffed it with batting, sewed a button in the center and you have a little pin cushion. Cute.It would be cool to do in wools/tweeds. Need to make a bit larger for turning. |
