Although it's not painted up exactly the way I'd like it, (probably change it), it will ready to face the wind when the weather is a bit more cooperative. Fun little piece, nostalgic in nature, as you used to see them on farmsteads years ago. So, it will make me smile when I see the little milkmaid milking her jersey cow. |

How cute, Janet. Mine sits on a shelf by the back door that everyone comes in and out of. It's the perfect viewing/admiration place for it until I dare put it outside. Maybe the GGs will help me paint mine. It's so clever the way her hands move up and down when the wind blows. Maybe I should mount it in our design studio next to the fan we turn on every summer to help with the heat. Wouldn't it be a good conversation piece?
Nick and I just finished discussing/mapping out our garden for next summer. He wants LOTS of beets, collards (have to be grown in our greenhouse because of flea beetles), chard, red onions, and BIG juicy tomatoes (I like the smaller heirloom varieties). He promises he'll weed and water them diligently. If he tackles it as diligently as he tackled picking raspberries last summer, his rows will be picture perfect. |

Janet, that is about the cutest thing. I just love it! Can't wait to see it up.
MaryJane, you will have to show off your whirligig after the new paint job.
Nick's garden sounds wonderful. Beets, Yay. Mom and I have canned tons of them in the past. I am still plotting my garden. I'll come up with something. Over half of what I like, the hubby turns his nose up at |

Thank you ladies. Joe and I have our garden mapped out but will have to get it plowed up and there is one small stump, but if I must, I can plant around it. It's a new spot as I've planted so many trees up north, there isn't enough sunshine. And I don't plan on cutting down any trees. I love to grow my beets until they are about the size of golf balls and then cook the greens and beets together. Scrumptious. I still have plenty in the cupboard but they are so good fresh. I think we're all ready for spring and getting into our gardens. |
