On another thread in recent days, people were talking about the prairies and the differences of prairies around the country. I think that Janet and MaryJane each said that they don't have much use for formal lawns and this explains that they are exactly right!

Yes, the importance and beauty of native prairie. Many good publications on prairie, history, importance. Along with having our own milk cows, raising our own food, wouldn't if be grand if folks understood the importance of prairie, and would forgo their manicured lawns and sprays, chemicals, upkeep and returned to the native grasses and lawns of yesteryear. Wildlife habitat, insects, birds, would all benefit. Thanks for sharing the link Charlene. |
