Is it true that a cow is to have a magnet? If so, when do you do it? I walk my fields regularly, and everything looks fine for no metal. |

Hi Vicky, I have never put a magnet in my cow. I have seen then and heard of times when this has been done but I have been told it is when a specific problem arises when metal ingestion is suspected. Sure would not worry about that one. Always would see a vet before considering. |

I have't put magnets in my cows either. Probably won't unless they should show signs of suspect origin. |

Sounds good. I didn't want to put one in her. I just thought I would ask. I'm a newbie. |

So, I'm a newbie as well...and I'll ask the obvious stupid question. Why would someone put a magnet in a cow? And, how does one "put" a magnet in a cow anyway??
After you all pick yourselves up from laughing at me, please go ahead and answer my question! :-) |

Thanks for the link, Ron. It actually got a laugh out of me...thinking of retrieving and reusing the magnet. Gross. And, why in the world do goats get the bad rap for eating anything and everything? |

I just figured you put magnets in a cow so you could put her on the refrigerator door ;) |

Well, if you had the cow up on the refrigerator door at least the floor would stay clean! And, there have been more than one post talking about ways of bringing the cows indoors...so magnets might help! haha.
