It was fun for me to look back on these pictures of the beautiful weather and smooth coated cow. Alex pretty much had the same birth experience the second time around, but it happened faster and during the day. :) This time she had a Samson calf. He still has his mama's cute heart on his forehead, but more of the coloring of his papa. He just has a touch of white above his hooves on all four feet and a few white lines where his legs meet his body. Of course she picked the nastiest part of the corral to give birth in so we had to hurry and get some straw down. The story of this winter has been snow! It's been a battle.
Just as an update here's a picture of Xander (Alex's first bull calf) from last June. He was just shy of a year. Don't seem to have any more recent ones of him. We bred him to Elli in October, so she is due to calve in July.
