I need a little help understanding. Hamby has two pasteurizers that I see one is just a pasteurizer. The other is a dual control for cheese. Is the dual pasteurizer the one that thermizes. I didn't see the kleen flo. I could be blind. I just want to start getting my milk appliances.

Good morning Victoria. I checked their website just now and this 2-gallon model looks like the Kleen-flo (for the most part) but it doesn't have the Kleen-flo label anymore. In the description, it says "New and improved!"

You could call them tomorrow and ask if it's indeed a Kleen-flo and if the temperature can be adjusted on this model like you can on the Kleen-flo (you insert a thin screwdriver into the tiny hole in the front and adjust it down until your milk hits 150 degrees using a thermometer to test--takes a couple of days to get it right).

I don't suggest the aluminum models they have for sale. Best to stick with stainless steel.

Here's the 4-gallon one I'm using presently (FJ16), although I still have my Kleen-flo, enabling me to do 6 gallons at a time when I use both at the same time:

Victoria, when I went to buy my pasteurizer, I didn't see the Kleen-Flo on Hamby Dairy site, so ended up buying my 2 gal. Kleen-Flo from Farm and Ranch Depot. I bought most everything else from Hamby Dairy. http://farmandranchdepot.com/farm-equipment/Pasteurizers/

Thank you Maryjane and Janet, This is most helpful. I will look into it. No milk yet, but want to have everything set when the time comes.

I had most of my equipment before calving time. I absolutely worry about every little thing. So even though I had most everything beforehand I was still stressed, but that's just me. It's a wonder I'm still alive. It's fun to prepare though and have as much done beforehand so that part of it is out of the way and you will just be concentrating on your new calf and momma.

Janet I know what you mean. I have been arranging my barn for the stanchion. Getting a on demand water heater. Checking out milking machines. I'm really interested in the non electric one Maryjane is checking out. I do plan on hand milking. My guy doesn't hand milk. Just all things to have on hand.

It sounds like you are coming along nicely. I really like the Ultimate EZ milker. I have nothing but praises for it. Easy to use and handle, clean. I like the sounds of the manual milker that MaryJane mentioned too. If I need a back up, I think that is what I will get. You will have to share a photo of your set up when you're done. I'm so happy and anxious and excited for you. It's all coming together.

MaryJane sent me this link to a particular pasteurizer. Anyone use this specific one? We are wondering if it could be used to also make yogurt as well as thermize milk.

As we get more cows giving us milk, we may need to get a bigger pasteurizer and if one could be multi-functional, all the better.

I have that brand in a 4 gallon but the model I have is no longer manufactured. I have three of them. The one we've had for several years is presently with an electrician because the switch went out. Other than that, they're well built and I love how easy they are to use--much easier to use than the type you have where you lock down a lid.

Too bad I don't need another one or I could try it out and let you know. I like the yogurt feature.
