Posted - Sep 21 2017 : 7:20:23 PM Our family brought home a flashy little fall calf to our farm this March. We purchased her at the blue ribbon calf sale in our home state of Massachusetts. We decided to make our purchase at this sale as it heavily supports our state's 4-H programs. Our baby is now one year old and the belle of our farm. We ended with one heck of a foundation animal to start out backyard dairy program. My children love her to pieces. I will attach pictures when I can figure that out!

Posted - Sep 22 2017 : 1:20:02 PM What a nice looking heifer Cowbell is P. And how precious being handled by little girl. Never too late. I didn't get my first little calf until I was in my late 50's. What a joy they are. They provide us with comfort, food and such satisfaction. So happy for you and can't wait to hear and see more. |

Posted - Sep 22 2017 : 1:12:06 PM Here is a picture of Cowbell the day we brought her home in March.
Also here is a link of her sale video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfVv7R05kmM&feature=youtu.be
If this works I will attach more recent pictures.
Thank you all for your kind words. Bringing a day cow home was a long fulfilled dream. While my husband grew up on a farm he was resistant to me bringing home a dairy cow, so while I thought I would have my girl in my 20's it didn't happen for another decade. |

Posted - Sep 22 2017 : 09:42:05 AM Oh My Goodness,
How exciting! I just got the biggest smile reading your post:)
I am wanting a cow so bad, but always so happy for others when they make their purchases to. Having the children involved is priceless.
The Junior College I am attending is having a fall heifer sale in October. There are Jerseys that will be sold. Glad I will be working it, that keeps me out of the bidding crowd!
Can't wait to see your pic's. Have a lovely day. |

Posted - Sep 22 2017 : 06:17:45 AM Good morning P. When you're making a post, you can see a little yellow box, one box in from the right on the string of icons directly above where you're typing. Click on it and then download your pic. Easy. But remember to leave your cursor in the exact place in your text where you want your photo so your photo doesn't make your text wonky. It'll still work but it's nicer the other way. Let me know if I can help. We'll love to see photos of your Belle, Cowbell. |
