Here's where my bull Samson is going to be hanging out for the next couple of months for collection of his semen so I can sell a piece of his handsome self to those girls needing artificial insemination (AI):

Let me know when you have any miniature bull semen for sale, MJ. I trust your stock and that's important.

Welcome Sydney,
Here are details on Samson's semen for sale. He's a small bull but not miniature, even though I do let him service my miniature Jersey girls. I won't have sexed semen from him available until this spring or early summer.

I've collected my miniature bulls but I'm not currently offering their semen for sale.

MaryJane,
Do you have any sexed semen left for sale? From what bulls? Any info you could give me would be appreciated.
Thanks!

MaryJane, I'm sure he will like being back home as much as you will like having him back. Don't know much about cows/bulls but in the fall the horses love to come home. (up to the house pasture). Home is home no matter how long you're gone. I'm thinking he may be a little antsy at first, feel the waters so to speak, but I bet just being home is going to feel pretty good and familiar to him. An Ahhhhh moment!

AH. Sir Anthony. Boy do I love the look of Him. Would be such a waste if I owned Him. Sort of like the folks that buy a work of art and put it someplace that only they can enjoy. Lol... I have not seen all your cows but from what I have seen it looks like you have a heard second to none. Nice job. Lots of hard work, and at times lots of heart break.

In those photos I took, he's three years old, born 4/11/2011. So, yeah, he's an young-looking older guy (he gets lots of pampering here). He's the dad to my most recent Lacy Lou and Sir Anthony.

Nice looking Bull. How old is He? Looks very young.

UPDATE: I'll be bringing Samson home next week. I'm excited to have him back. I hope his personality hasn't changed, you know, maybe too much locker room talk? He was a really mellow bull before I sent him off to boot camp. They said everything went exceptionally well (I couldn't have asked for better service with lots of updates or a better bull, GO, Samson!!!). There was a dry spell in which all their bulls got a break because of the heat (sperm counts were affected), so upon their recommendation, I left him longer than I'd anticipated.

Thank you MaryJane. I will be checking back. It is exciting and it isn't even my bull. It really is fascinating work. Most everything now days is "ka-ching" it seems. I am so glad things are working out well for Samson. All good news. Hope the AI class goes well too! And we know Etta Jane has to be closer. :)

I'm almost ready to post the details on Samson. Collection was extraordinary. On the second day, they got 275 units! Now, they're going through the process of sexing 250 units (it has to be sent off and the costs are ka-ching!) The woman at Genex called him an "exceptional" bull. Here's a portion of her email to me.

"I want to let you know that we began collections on Samson. He did great the first day. He had a high libido, and served the AV well. Additionally, his semen quality looked excellent, and I was able to freeze 164 units. That has been evaluated for a post thaw motility, and also passes. He will be collected again on Thursday. Providing he continues to collect this well, we should be done with collections on him within the next two to three weeks, and then he will just need to finish his health testing."

I'm also anxious to see what my miniature Jersey cow, Etta Jane, gives me any day now from Samson. Samson is more mid-size but I'm hoping he also serves miniature Jerseys well. I did a live mount with Etta Jane and Samson and it wasn't any problem for her so I can't see why she'd have any problem sizing him down a tad. I will let you know!

It was exciting to get such a good report back from Genex. There can be a dozen different problems during collection. I'm so relieved. It's a lot like drilling for water. You start spending money immediately (charged by the foot) without knowing whether or not you'll hit water. Nerve-wracking!

MJ, are you interested in selling sexed semen from Samson, and if so, do you know how much a straw of Samson's sexed semen, (say that fast three times, ha!), seriously, will cost? I imagine shipping would be costly too. Just checking out the possibilities.

Nice accommodations! How did he travel? It's been so hot here lately, did you have to travel only at certain times or did you need to stop frequently to give him water or breaks?
