Good morning! Boy did the week go fast. Entering our last week of September tomorrow. Goodness. The trees are pretty in different colors. Looking like autumn. Asters in bloom. It is to be quite warm here today and tomorrow, rain Mon. and Tues. and then cool down to 70's. Plenty to do. My yard is full of walnuts so I will have to get at those. Move the majority of food from the refrigerator to the one in the basement, so this one is ready to move. Just the usual stuff that comes up and has to be dealt with. Have an enjoyable weekend. |

Good morning Missy. I've been up for a couple of hours (sleepless in Idaho) trying to get caught up on some filing and noticed you were sleepless in Iowa. It sounds like you're getting moved into your parlor. I've started seeing a few walnuts on the ground also.
I think it's time for an early morning nap (try the night thing one more time), before coffee or maybe a pumpkin spice latte. Darla, that's how we make ours also, with pumpkin puree. Delish.
Caren, I'm happy you went with a newer model glamper. The restroom/food thing is real when traveling. We love stopping for coffee and potty breaks now. It's just the coolest thing ever to be able to travel with everything you need. |

Good morning MaryJane. I guess sleepless or got my sleep in. I went to bed at 10:00, woke up at 2:00 and that was my get up time. Made my coffee and did some reading. Just made breakfast and the day is started. Hope you can get a few more zzzz. Have a good day and nice apple weekend. |

Good morning you early birds!
On my way to Farmers Market but popped in fast here.
Here's MollieMoo basking in the first fall evening last night:
Also, thank you MaryJane for pointing me back to your experiences with ketones and skinny cows. We may have a similar issue and are starting to work through it. I've ordered the strips but do you know where I can get some locally? What stores here in town?
Offf to get breakfast for our B&B guestsa and head into town for market! Hope to practice more spinning when I get home. Definitely an art and I'm still at the lumpy yarn stage! Haha |

Charlene, I'd posted on the Urinalysis that you can get them locally at Walgreens. If she does show positive, you'll need to get some ReaShure from Leedstone:

Do make sure she's getting plenty of calcium. For Anna, I switched to Michael Wicks higher calcium minerals. I don't just offer them free-choice with her, I put some on her Chaffhaye every morning. Also, we had to do some calcium drip initially to really amp up her stores. When a cow gets low on calcium she'll start burning muscle in order to supply her udder with what it needs. Chaffhaye will give her the calcium she needs, but only if it's a major part of her diet. Or alfalfa hay.

Thank you, MaryJane. Next week I'll need to get more Chaffhaye from you but we will give Clover some alfalfa now. |

Happy Start to Fall,
Are we all a bunch of non-sleepers on here? Went to bed at 2 a.m. and was back up at 5:30. Had to have Becky over at the college by 7:30 to catch a bus with her Renaissance Art class. Going to Stanford to look at sculptures around the city, and then over to San Francisco to the Palace of Fine Arts. I should have taken that class with her:)
Well, again yesterday I went through over a gallon of milk. Maybe if I start saving all my "dairy receipts" I can get Tom to agree a little sooner. LOL
They are picking up and loading Almonds on the property next to us again today, so the air is absolutely filthy:( One more go at it and they should be done for the season. YAY
MaryJane, I have a gallon of local honey ordered, so when it comes in I am going to try and freeze dry some and see how it turns out. Will let you know.
Charlene, just love the picture of your cow, and the background just enhances her beauty. Great shot!!
Hope you all have a Wonderful and Blessed Start to Autumn |

Good afternoon. Yes a beautiful picture of MollieMoo and the background. Stunning. Just got home with a load of organic hay. Won't unload it until evening after sun goes down. Too hot at the moment. Dusty around here too Darla, as some harvesting of fields going on. Windy and warm. Always nice to have plenty of milk at hand. Never having to run to the store. Hope you all have a pleasant Sat. afternoon. |
